    Wilhelm Kaan (* 23. August 1865 in Weinhaus near Vienna; † 29 April 1945 in Graz-Ragnitz; to 1919 Edler von Kaan) was an Austrian lawyer and politician. from 6 November 1918 to 27. Kaan was a member of the Greater German People's Party (GDVP) and, after studying law at the University of Graz, was a lawyer by profession. He was also a municipal councilor in Graz from 1905 and a member of the Styrian state parliament from 1908. In the first state elections in Styria on 11. On May 27, 1919, the Christian Social Party achieved the most seats and Kaan was replaced by Anton Rintelen on May 27, 1919. Kaan was a nephew of the Styrian governor Wilhelm Kaan; like his uncle, Richard Kaan was also a lawyer in Graz. He belonged to the national liberal camp and represented the Styrian People's Party from 1949 until his death in the Styrian state parliament. From 1964 he was second president of the state parliament, from 7. On April 1, 1965, he served as First President of the Landtag. He died in a car accident near Bruck an der Mur in 1969, on the same route on which ÖVP chairman Karl Schleinzer was killed in 1975.

From 1906 to 1919 he served in the Ministry of Justice. In 1916, during the First World War, he was ennobled by Franz Joseph I and henceforth bore the nickname Edler von Marrein. In the First Republic he was State Secretary/Minister of Justice under the Renner II state government. From 1920 to 1926 he was President of the Graz Higher Regional Court.
