    Description

    Handsome fold-out 1962 Esso road map of Pittsburgh and vicinity, printed more than 58 years ago.
    This map opens to 24" x 25" and has great detail on old street and highway alignments, with cartography by the General Drafting Company.
    The coverage area includes Bellevue, Brentwood, Mount Washington, Schenley Park, Sharpsburg, Aspinwall, Duquesne, McKees Rocks, and Westwood.
    This map was published by the Humble Oil & Refining Company to promote its Esso brand, and it is dated March 1962 in the legend. The code number on the back panel is P1261.
    The cover artwork shows the Civic Auditorium and proposed Civic Center.
