KALAMAZOO DUPLEX PHONOGRAPH
The world-famous Duplex, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan and sold primarily (and briefly) via special mail-order promotions.
The original makers and sellers of these Duplexes were adamant that the twin horns provided a lot more sound; most experts will agree this was hyperbole and they in fact sounded no louder (or better) than, say, a Victor V.  The enterprise was short-lived and after a few years they were gone from the market.  Today, they are prized by collectors and make impressive display pieces.
This beautiful example has been completely restored, inside and out.  It shows almost as-new.  The are a few later-made parts, such as the reproducer, but the case, motor, horns, etc. are original.  The horns have been recovered with new "silks" and Duplex badges.
Most Duplexes that come to market are beat and tired looking.  Not this one, a lot of expense and effort was made to bring it to this condition.
