Cute 1920's Kompact Camera-Box Phonograph for Restoration, Cranks Up & Spins!

In my ongoing quest to thin out my collection, I am or will be posting on Ebay a number of unusual antique phonographs that I picked up over the decades in here in northern New England, and never got around to restoring. This one is a Kompact, a novelty phonograph made by the Plaza Music Company of New York in the 1920’s. This little gem folds up into a, well, compact (8”d x 5.25”w x 6.25”h) case that looks just like a Kodak Brownie box camera of the same era. It’s an ingenious little player – my favorite feature is the turntable that folds out to support a full-sized 78 RPM record – and it actually cranks up and spins, though I have never completely assembled it (the tone arm needs to be assembled, and the crank hold escutcheon needs to be screwed back on). The reproducer is Brunswick Panatrope model – I have no idea if it’s original to this unit, or not. The handle, I assume, is not original, but it works. If you have been looking for one of these but have been holding out for a really nice, restorable example, this is your lucky day. Best of all, I offer it here with NO RESERVE – high bidder takes it!
