    Description

    This small document was drawn up by the United States Department of the Interior, Harold L. Ickes Secretary, National Park Service and Arno B. Cammerer, Director. The front page reads: "The name Cabrillo honors the memory of the first Caucasian ever to set foot on the Western Shore of the United States. It was Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, commander of the Spanish Caravels, San Salvador and Victoria, who on the afternoon of September 28, 1542, first sighted land at the Point Loma on the California Coast now embracing the Cabrillo National Monument." The back side of this document contains a map of the California Coast where Point Loma lies, in what is now San Diego. There are 4PP and the document is not dated.
