VTG Rare ESSO Motor Oil Instructor Lab Coat Uniform Patch Monogram Mens sz.42

$ 153.11

Availability: 100 in stock
  • Condition: Good preowned use condition. The wear shown on the fabric is associated with internal use as an Instructor for ESSO Service and age. There are 7 tiny unpatched holes in the lower front right side, and a tiny hole on the lower inside of both sleeves. There are many discolorations, markings and stains in brown tones on the Instructor coat as well. The coat hasn't been washed, and dry cleaning could very well remove many of the stains. Please reference the pictures.

    Description

The Valuable Vintage long lab coat is pre-owned and worn by an Instructor at the Training Center for ESSO Service in the 1940's...so maybe 80+ years old!
The coat is made by Anderson Bros. in Danville
VA., and the heavy duty twill cotton is sanforized shrunk, and off white in color.
The Instructor lab coat is manufacturer label marked inside to be a Men's size 42 Regular.
These are the measurements taken when the coat is laying flat:
    25.5"
--- Chest Underarm to Underarm Pit
    17" -------Shoulder to Shoulder
25 1/4"-- Sleeve Shoulder to Cuff
18.5" ---- Arm Length from Armpit to Wrist Cuff
44.5" -----Length Down Back, from seam of collar to bottom edge
The ESSO Lab coat has "Instructor" monogrammed in red thread at the top of the top front double breast pocket. All the monogram patches are cleanly stitched and crisp.
There are 3 striking oval ESSO patches with vibrant red and blue monogrammed thread as well.  A large, 5 3/4" x 3 3/4" oval patch on the front breast pocket, and a 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" oval patch on each of the notched collar lower lapels.
There are 3 metal buttons going down the front, 2 of them original Anderson, and one of them is a Lee metal button.
There are 3 big patch tablet/tool pockets on the front of the Instructor lab coat:
The top breast pocket is double with a pocket sewn over a pocket so there are essentially 2 useful                      pockets.
The 2 lower patch pockets has top access to the pockets, along with side openings to the pockets that                 provide access inside the underside of the Instructor coat.
The long lab coat has a vent in the back.
The cuffed sleeves have a metal snap closure.
All the seams of the long Instructor coat are double seamed for durability to help make it so long lasting with years of use.
The inside of the coat has a light pen marking just to the right of the Anderson Bros. label that has a circled 8 and ESSO VILL marking identification.
Since this long Lab Coat was definitely put to use as an ESSO Instructor for many years, it also shows signs of repair with patches and reinforced stitching on parts of the lower front, and a front snap closure.
